Great P-38. How anyone can stand that nutroll of regulation is beyond me.

      Great piece!

There is a certain amount of current hysteria involving holster storage.
I have seen pieces stored for 50 years holstered without a mark on them.

That said, I presently err on the side of caution and do not store anything in a holster.

          Hi Paul,

I would like to add that you've got a decent holster there, as well. P.38 hardshell holsters aren't seen in brown as often.

          Cheers

Thanks to all for the kind words on my 41 ,

JasonA yes the brown holster is in really nice condition and is dated 1942 ,, I prefer to keep my pistols stored out of their holsters but I do have friend here that has his pistols stored in holsters, we do check them once a year, so far all OK, we live down in the south of NZ where I think the weather seems to make for good storage (humidity almost zero ) ..

              Paul,

I have a light brown hardshell P.38 holster, and it took me forever to find! Regarding storage, I agree wholeheartedly. I would never store my pistols in holsters. I always wrapped my firearms in an old, soft, cotton t-shirt, oddly enough. That's how my dad used to do it, and it has always served well, over decades of storage.

To each his own, I guess.

              Cheers

              Jason
