Russian flare gun

I was offered this flare gun, but there seem to be no readable date. Is there a way to check the age of this flaregun?

It has the Izhevsk sign (arrow in triangle) which dates it to post 1928. That's all I can say unfortunately.

Now lets hope that that is a way to date it as pre 45

Are these normally dated? Where can that date be found?

This model was produced in 1930-1944. It is called OSP30

Please look at the serial number at the barrel. If it is from 5 digits - f.e. 11111 this flare gun was produced between 1930 and 1938
If it looks like two letters and 3 digits - XX111, it was produced in between 1938 and 1944
