    K98 stamping

    Hello!
    A friend of mine have this K98, its a s/42 from 1937.(sorry for the bad picture)
    It has got this stamping KNM.NR. 3514
    Does anyone know what this means??

    This is a stamp from the Norway army ...

    To be more exact "Königliche Norwegische Marine"

          Not 100%.....but close!

          Ehr.... To be correct KNM is "Kongelige Norske Marine", translates to "Royal Norwegian Navy". This rifle can also be found with "K-ART" marking, denoting "Kystartilleriet", translates to "Coastal Artillery". Both types (same type of rifle, different markings) were in 7.92mm and saw post-war use in the Norwegian Navy/coastal artillery.
