    MG maker mark???

    Hi,

    Does someone know this maker mark? And why doesn't it say MG42?

    hello production is Mauder Borsigwalde in 1945 ...dd is the code of the plant

      the d.f. code for Mauser , borsigwalde plant , dd. code for 1945 .
      m.g.42 marking was omitted from the gun by this company in 1944 & 1945. also by Gustloff made (assembled) guns in 1945 (possibly in 1944 also.).
      can not recall who else may have dropped the "m.g.42" marking.
      bear in mind that NO m.g.34s were ever marked m.g.34.

      is this one fully matching as you can tell ? bring on more photos if you wish.

          hi Rogerd ,
          i have one to !!!
          mine is made in januari 1945 and is used after the war by NATO forces .
          the other stamp on my gun is the Belgian demil-mark (lion with crown)

            Hello.Very nice and late Mauser Mg42.The Receiver must be stamped "bpr" by the rear sight.Also from "Großfuß".The latest Mg42 which i know and has the MG42 Marking is beginning the "c-serial".After the Maker marks whitout the "M.G.42".
            Also for Simplification.
            Please show us more Pics from this nice Mg42!!!
