    K98 bcd/ar 42 rifle opinions please

Today I got this German K98 which is made by bcd/Ar (Gustloff-Werke Weimar & Mauser-Werke AG Berlin Borgsigwalde) in 1942.

Now my question is some people told me it has been used after the war by other forces?! Can anyone give me more information?
They say it is because of the extra stamps on photo number 3.

    Many thanks in advance!

I have a matching BCD/AR 42 in the C block. Hard to find nice dual codes. It is difficult to tell what letter block yours is in from the pics.
However, i can see evidence of postwar markings on the left side of the barrel just behind the rear sight. The checkered shield is indicative of, if i recall correctly, a proof from the West German government. Perhaps a Bavarian proof. Usually has the date of stamping as well, any chance of closeups of the markings on the left site?
      Nice rifle! Thanks for showing

I agree with Joe. dual marked receivers hard to find .condition over all looks real good. markings do look west german but, I'm not sure.
as long as you got it at a good price , & it's all matching = great find.
last dual marked I saw was way to much money , specially since it was a russian capture item.
the seller, swore up & down it was a vet bring back , And he wanted to fight me on my statement that it was a russian capture (was not all matching either) saw I just walked away.
he's not the only "dealer " that does not have a clue & does not want your opinion.
any how, nice looking k-98. jeff

Post war West German proof marks, not uncommon to see. Does not detract from this rifle IMO as it is part of its history.

Dual codes are not easy to find, nice rifle well done.

          Regards Craig.

I agree with all the above comments. If it's all matching, it's a great find!!!

serial looks like 2554 f (F) block for the most part there are MORE BCD/AR 42's then AR42 so for this year its easier to get a BCD/AR42 and a AR42 is quite scarce.
