      your p-38 was made in january 1945 = " Y " block , 6430.
since this company made far less than the others , easier to follow the letter block.
again , the other companies did date theirs.
the holster , I see no red flags , but still could be post was made.
both magazines are correct late war ,spot welded type , no doubt 1944 made. I own so cruder looking ones from 45.

Thanks Jeff. The pair were returned by a Vet so I have no reason to believe the 1944 marked holster didn't originate with the pistol. Can you please help me put a value on this one?

I hate putting values on any thing . I tend to be lower than most on this forum.
          MY ESTIMATE $800.00 - $1,000.00 ish.
just going off the idea the gun it self sells around here @ $550.00 /600.00.
holsters are all over the map but, your's is in excellent shape, with both mags....
as a set from the vet....
but others here will state higher.
my last p-38 ,1944 mauser with holster & both mags I bought at a gun show for $650.00 !
          great shape ,ect.
the guy got it from the vet a year before. it was a 3 day show & 2 days went by with no interest , till I came along.
          go figure !
seems most would prefer any other maker than a spree werk , unless they want examples of them all.
