I found them to be a bunch of bozos. I bought their "WW2 German MG ammo can" after a lengthy discussion with a salesman on the phone, who assured me it was wartime German and had *no* markings on it. It also came with 5 50-round belts, also supposedly WW2 German. Well, I got the box, opened it, saw a massive SA stamp on the top of the can which is impossible to miss, not to mention postwar paint and ammo belts. This guy swore to me they were completely original and wartime. Well, I swear that the box wasn't open for more than 5 minutes before it was taped back up for shipment. If they can't get such an obvious description down on a $65 item, I won't be spending my money on any of their high dollar firearms.

I've personally never delt with them. I tried emailing them about several P38s that they had for sale a while back, but never got a response from them!

I've asked other collectors about them, and one told me that if you aren't buying or selling a luger, they really aren't interested in dealing with you.
Customer service is not a big priority for them. Prices are pretty steep too on most of thier items.

PS-Checkpoint Charlies is still around. site is at- www.checkpointcharlies.com.
He is adding pics to his website now too! (about time!) I'm going to see him tommorow! He is out of Waupaca, not Chicago!
I'll let you know if I bring back anything good!

                  Simpson Ltd. Experience

I purchased a Mauser 1934 Pistol from Simpson Ltd. Gun was nice. My only complaint was their communication, or lack of. I was looking to purchase a couple other items and they were not only kind of rude when I did get them on the phone, but half the time I got their answering machine and they never returned even one of my calls. I wont be buying anything else from them. And they have a fake SS helmet for sale as original so that makes them that much worse in my opinion.

                    Justin,

I got the exact same treatment! Customer service is not a high priority for them.

Now I have heard if you call them up, and tell them you want to sell an artillery luger, that they are much friendlier, and call you back every 15 minutes!!

                    Matt

                        Charles,

Yes, I just visited Charlie today, and I picked up 3 great holsters along with a few P38 magazines. Great shopping day!

                          I would avoid them...

for the most part as only a few months ago there was significant discussion over an ss marked 98k sniper rig- quite bogus imo & if I can find the threads I will post them.
