Aluminum MP40 handguard....

Hi Gentlemen,

Some few days ago, I get this handguard for MP 40 made in aluminum.
I've seen a lot of posts here and there about use of aluminum instead of Bakelite by the French Army in Indochina just after the war but I haven't find any 'official' documentation or even picture of it.

Does anybody of you have such kind of 'material' / info to share about it ?

Here are some pictures of this part (from the way it has been manufactured, you'll see it's not an industrial serie but finally well done).
If you need more pictures or some details, don't hesitate to ask for. By the way, no marking at all anywhere.

MP40 and FG42 have alimminium grips. So maybe such details were made in Israel?

Probably not related and not of much help but they remind me very much of those grips found on post war CZ27 pistols...

Such detail were seen at Kiev (Ukraine) cinema studio, so they could be made to replace broken details during movie creation
