    MG34 gripp buckle??

I bought an MG34 pistol grip sometime ago. It came with this buckle hanging. At first I thought it was a regular one but after comparing I have seen it is different: the press botton is rimless, any thoughts?

    It should have a WaA.

    Looks like a 34 and not a 42

Yes, as said, it's for an MG34. Doesn't have any stamp, number or a WaA but I have 4 original MG34 slings and none of them has a WaA. It has bits of black paint.
I thought it could be for a Gewehr 98 but no good either, the shape is like those for an MG not a Gewehr. Could it be a early variant?

          Hello Gurt,

I had a look at this web and it doesn't look like a Gewehr98 buckle:

          http://www.rollanet.org/~stacyw/German_GEW98_Sling.htm

Those seem to be 'flat', long and with a rimmed botton.

I'm afraid it is not for an FG42...The only good pics of a period sling I could relate to an FG42 are in this link:

                  http://claus.espeholt.dk/fg42.html

I'm just posting 1 trimmed pic of those, to illustrate. You can see It looks quite similar to those for Gewehr 98, rather than the ones for MG34.
