In about 1985 I ordered a Kar98k from Century Arms Inc for $119.95 through a friend with an FFL. When the gun came in it was an all matching, not forced matched, BYF 44 complete with cleaning rod and the proper bluing. The cupped buttplate was not blued nor was the donut hole/take down in the stock.
I sold the gun 20 years ago so there is no way that I can prove it now but I think the gun was an unissued piece. There was an import mark and the swastikas were dinged out with what was perhaps a center punch tool.
The FFL holder agreed with me, it was also his opinion that the gun was a total unissued weapon, not an arsenal refinish.
I bought several more imported Kar98k rifles after that over the years and the prices went up while the quality went down. I never again saw one that was as nearly as nice as the first one I bought.

With that price I think it is better to wait when one in original condition shows up.

I have seen others that were mint un-issued with just the "Germany" stamp on the rear site.

You bought an import, but not a RC...
