Hi,I have been going through my small 7.92 cartridge collection trying to find out what the various letters such as SMK,PmK stand for. I just found out that what I thought were just Tropical cartridges are infact high explosive incediary type. I think it unlikely that the explosive mixture in the bullet (if that is the case) would have been removed when the cartridges where deactivated. So my question is are they safe if left alone? Yours worried David.

P.m.K.
Hi Phil, thanks for yor replies. Yes I know of the Boebachtungs Patrone-not a live one that I would want in my collection. The only reference that I have states that tha P.m.K round (Phosorgeshoss mit kern) was a high explosive incendiary round (although it makes no mention of a detonator as per the B patrone) what I'm concerned about is should I keep the rounds in my house or would they be safer in the garage? Obviously if there is no explosive in the bullet they can stay in the warm! Regards David.
