MG13 Pouches for ZB 26/30s Magazines

    List,

Wearing MG13 magazine pouches for ZB 26/30s seems to be the norm for reenactors. However, after much searching, I cannot find a single historical reference that verifies that this was standard practice (or even ever practiced). Can anyone shed some light on this?

    Danke,

    Tom

Spain had this kind of Czech light MG in the 40's-70's and canvas mag pouches of MG13 style were used with them but I don't know if they were German made.

from the few photos I've seen , most of the troops (police ,rear area men, ect.) seem to be using these with the 20 round magazines ,not the 30. they have ammo cans for the mags.
now a (not so good ) photo shows an SS unit , Prinz Eugen using these 30 mag. pouches BUT, mounted (not sure how) on to a pack mule "set up" on the animal.
shows 4 mounted side by side.
in 39 / 40 they still used the mg.-13 ,& you can find photos of them wearing them around their neck.
      any help ??

        Gentlemen,

Thank you for your help on this. I am just trying to find out if it was common for German soldiers to use mg13 magazine pouches to hold zb26/30 magazines for combat during the war. My guess is that MG13 pouches are shown in one or so pictures and because they look cool and are available, reenactors have standardized on them.
