Sorry about the crud you see in the pics, Gun was covered in gun oil.

Someone was having fun with a specious SS stamp postwar.

Looks exactly like the Pre-WWII PPK with the same fake stamp from a gun show (and on gunbroker as well for thse that remember) a few years back. Definitely a post-war marking. OVerall, still two very nice items!

This set has never been on Gunbroker or at any Gun Shows, Was purchased in 1971 and and been in the Collection since. at least the Gun is right. Unsure about these RZM High leader PPk's as there seems to be lots of conflicting info in Books.

Ach, sorry, man, meant to say that the stamp looks exactly like the same found on this PPK that was on the circuit for some time. Hope I didn't convey anything wrong! In either case, still a beautiful pair there.

What a shame to ruin what was possibly the original holster. Just my opinion, but best to separate the pistol and holster as the fake markings taints an otherwise rare piece.

I agree with that, Gun needs to be seperated from that Holster.

                          Guys,

I don't like the "SS" holster markings either and have always doubted "SS" markings on leather. However, just yesterday I noticed some interesting photos of a ground-dug "SS" marked 98k ammo pouch that is shown in a long-running thread about ground-dug helmets (from Russia) over in the helmet forum.

For discussion purposes, here are the photos (which I pulled off of the other thread):
