Well...

In the First World War the Germans used bandoleers to a great extent (though they were not set-up like the cowboy/Mexican bandoleers in single bullet dispensing).
In the Second World War the Germans did not use the bandoleer- except for the paratroopers I believe, who did use a version much different from the WWI variation, which I have never seen in person- only pictures.
