    DSM-34 (Erma) - Unit Markings?

Here is the DSM-34 .22 trainer that I found at a bargain price at a local show this weekend. The photos show the rifle in "as found" condition; story is that it "came out of an old guy's closet, where it had been sitting for a very long time."

I'll show a few photos to give you an idea what the rifle looks like, with the photos at the end of the thread showing some markings that I believe were added after the rifle left the Erma factory. I would very much appreciate some help in identifying the markings.

Here is some sort of marking that is stamped onto the butplate. Is this some sort of inventory number for the rifle?

The marking from the buttplate seems to also be lightly scratched into the wood of the right side of the stock, just below the upper barrel band.

                          The marking is "P/6"

Here is a marking that is almost impossible to read or photograph; located on the faux "takedown disc" in the stock. I did not notice this marking until I got the rifle home and was photographing it this afternoon.

I will show several shots in an effort to help capture the marking. As best I can tell it looks like either "Zeld-Bd" or "Seld-Bd" or "Sold-Bd".

Possibly some of you may have observed similary markings on other DSM-34 trainers? Any and all thoughts, opinions, etc. are most welcome and appreciated.
