I think it is a interesting museum with some rare birds in their exposition.
Thanks a lot for sharing. Personally I loved the MG08/15 and the Star Model B with "sweetheart grips".

Nice museum, definitely worth a visit. I believe the stock on the M1A1 paratrooper carbine has been postwar modified to low wood, and if I'm not mistaken the Vietnam era RPK is not Soviet but Yugoslavian.

Interesting Museum, but I see a few clunkers in the mix. Too bad, takes away from the other wonderful items displayed.....but of course, only one of a thousand visitors would know the differance!

Yes, the Beretta in post # 30 is a 38/42 and not a 38/44.

Yes - the descriptions in some of the museum's displays are not 100% accurate and/or could you some updating.

On the MG 08/15, what you see is all that I could see. The SN is, of course, on the left hand sideplate, so it is not visible in the display case. I am guessing it is a 1918 SPANDAU based on the "CGH" subcontractor's markings found on the cocking handle, as well as the overall finish and condition of the gun. Plus, a 1918 SPANDAU would be an easy guess, given that they are by far the most commonly encountered MG 08/15's here in the US.

Thats some serious eye candy there. Thats what I like about these museums on military installions. You get a lot of stories and proverance with the articles.

I have yet to vistit the museums here on FT Bragg and post some pic's. However in each of the regimental battalions they have articles from WWII to date in the foyer show cases that were donated from former members of which some still visit to talk to us.

Strange but there are some German WW II refurbished mess kits in the show cases that were brought back from Iraq in the 2000's

Well for my part, I want the serial number on the top cover or fusee cover (if its an early gun and marked there). I know ATF... but to keep track of them, I want top cover pictures where I can see the serial number and the date. I have several updates to Dolf's list. If you find more please send me pictures! http://www.maximmachinegun.com/ Oh and I find almost as many Erfurt guns as I do Spandaus when it comes to top covers. However there does seem to be more registered Spandaus...

Glad you liked the photos. FYI, however, most of the information I posted with the photos is not contained in the display descriptions; I just happen to have personal knowledge of some of these matters so I passed along what I thought were relevant facts. Quite frankly, the display signs at this museum are less than optimal (and I've heard quite a number of people make remarks about the inadequate and/or incorrect descriptions).
