I say, leave it as it is. the Stock is part of the history of the gun! I bet the person who originally captured it was the one to modify it. In my mind it's more original with the bubba stock than it will ever be with a replacement.

take that money that you would spend on a new stock and save it for when an all matching one with a stock pops up.

I agree! Even if you replaced the stock, it would be a MM rifle then! If the stock matched now, then why replace it? If you just want a K98 that looks wartime correct, then just buy a MM import.
