    mg34/42 cleaning rods?

Not sure if this post is in the correct section, but i am a collector of german MG items mainly mg42 and i have seen flooded on the market mg34/42 cleaning rods? these either come in 3 pieces to fit in the standard 300rnd ammo cans but i have also seen them as one long piece.
My question is did they ever exist? made and used by the germans in ww2? i have folke myrvangs book and he doesnt mention any type of cleaning rod, nor can i find any source of info mentioning these in use in ww2, apparently these have all come from the Russian capture stocks form the Ukraine salt mines, and i do know allot of german ww2 items are stored there from mg34s mg42s ammo tins, belts+ starters, ammo drums and oil cans etc as i have quite a few capture stocks of these acssesories myself. But these cleaning rods are puzzeling me

thanks, i am under the impression these were made by the russians for the mg34 like the "screwdrivers" that come with the lend lease thompson smgs from russian stocks as these were non standard issue also?

Thompson cleaning rods are not as long & have a round loop at the top to hold on to.
I kinda recall the type of rod your talking about. for another russian gun originally ?
similar to the Italian type for the m - 38 sub machine gun.

I do not have the web address handy but , found a site with a russian manual for the mg 34 ,& another of the mg 42. both printed during the war. might have graphics of a cleaning rod there = ????
send me a " P.M. " here, will get site address for you. jeff

If I'm not mistaken, the MG13 double barrel carrier could carry a long cleaning rod in it, so these could be for MG13. Never heard of them for the MG34, as they used the RG34 for field cleaning. I imagine armourers would have this king of tool, anyhow, for general long weapon cleaning, not specifically for MG34/42.

Pic #1: I believe there are some cleaning rods hanging on the wall, by the window.
