P38 Hardshell Holster With SS Marks

Please give me opinions on this P38 Hardshell holster. It is marked P38 / CGU 1940 / WaA920 on the back and then under the flap it has two small "SS" runes. Thanks, Mark.

Hi Mark,

I agree with besslein and I also think the holster is a reproduction. I don't like the looks of it. If you have access to it, open the flap and smell of the inside. If it smells like a new pair of shoes, it is a fake. Also, WaA920 is not listed as a waffenamt number that cgu used according to the data I have access to.

besslein is 100% correct.

The SS rune stamp is post-war.....this exact style / size / shape of runes (along with a black / red ink pad) has destroyed many an original document over time (do a search in the ID section here on the WAF for an example -or 20- of this), doubling (as seen here) as a leather / metal punch designed for one purpose only......to squeeze as many shekels as possible out of the masses.
