Latest Find! PL PPK, RZM slide!

Well, It didn't take me too long to find an excellent PL PPk to go with my PL PPk holster that I showed you last month.

Here it is. Let me just warn you first that the pictures do not do this PPk justice!
It is a very early RZM PL PPk, with the 90 degree safety lever, and a lovely high polish salt blue that is at least 98%!! Brown grips do have one slight crack in the left side (other than that, this pistol is minty!), and has brown extension magazine. Bore is minty of course!

    Enjoy!

Close up of the "RZM" marking. I can't even explain how nice the finish is on this piece!

Right side view of the PL PPk. Again lovely finish, and notice the serial number, 820367, with no letter suffix.

Super piece, Matt! I've always been leery of buying one of these (or preferably an SA marked example)only because I haven't handled enough of the RZM or SA marked examples to make an educated decision as to the authenticity of the markings.
          This one looks great!

            Magazine

            Matt,

What a VERY nice example, did it come with a MINT spare flat bottom magazine or do you need to get ahold of me

Thats a nice pistol and not easy to find in that condition!

              Minty!!!

              Matt,

Once more you find a nice treasure!! MINTY!!!

Congratulations for this wonderful piece. PPK marked with RZM "seal" are a rarity by itself and you even found a marvellous example.

              Regards,

              Douglas.

Thank you all! It is a lovely piece, and comes with a very funny story as well.

Back when I purchased the PL PPk holster (shown in earlier thread), I asked the dealer if he happened to have a PL PPk to go with it? He said he did have one, but it just sold that morning to another collector. He agreed to show it to me, since I had asked to see it. It was this one! I was very disappointed that it had sold already, since it was so minty, and priced fairly too!

However, I was just happy at that time to get the PL holster! I was somewhat surprised that the buyer of the PL PPk didn't purchase the PL holster with it? I even asked the dealer this question? and he says he didn't want the holster??
Anyways, I left with the holster that day, and began my search for a PL PPk that would match the quality of my PL PPk holster.

Today I went to visit the same dealer. I called him up this morning to make sure he was in, and told him I was coming to look at a P38 that he had for sale.
When I got there, he showed me the P38 that I wanted to look at. It was a very nice AC45, but was on consignment, and was priced too high.
He then told me that he had another gun that I would definately be interested in buying. He pulled out this PL PPK! The collector who originally purchased it, returned it to him, because he didn't like it!!
I couldn't believe my luck! I asked the dealer if he knew why the other buyer returned it. He said, that the buyer though the finish was a re-blue since it looked too good, and was priced so reasonable!!!
Well, both myself, and the dealer can assure you that it is definately not a re-blue! That is 100% original finish on this baby!

I really wish I knew the collector who returned it, so that I could send him a thank you letter!
Perhaps there's a chance he is reading this now. If so, "Thank you very, very, very, very, very Much!

It is about time that I finally had some luck go my way!

                  Matt

Robert- BTW, It didn't come with a spare mag. I do have a spare mag, but unfortunately the spare mag I have is in no way as beautiful as the pistol, so send me an email on a price for a minty PPk magazine that would rival this pistol!

                    Hi Matt,

Great piece!!! I just got this RZM myself. Not as great as yours -- some muzzle wear -- but still very good. Came with a flat bottom mag, so I had to pay a lot extra for a pre-war extension mag.

                      Nice little pistol.

Can someone explain to me what RZM stands for and how it's connected to the SA? I know the RZM mark can be found on SA daggers as well?

                          Jacklo,

Great looking PL ppk! So you got the extension mag already? Do you have a PL PPk holster for it yet? If not, that is the toughest thing to find!

                          Matt

P08- AS for the "RZM" marking. That thread that Jacklo posted above, shows a good explination of all the items that were RZM marked. Basically a good rule of thumb, is that all items with an RZM marking are items that were issued by the Nazi party or party orginizations (this includes: the SA, SS, HJ, DJ, and others)

Thanks Matt. Mine has serial number 830434, no letter suffix. I got the pre war extension mag already, but it is amazingly expensive for a mag. No holster yet.

Yes, extension mags are very expensive for both the Walther PP and PPk, and are becoming difficult to even find now!

Good luck with your holster search. My holster actually cost me more than the pistol did! Be prepared for that!
I'll keep an eye out for a holster for you, on the chance that I find one.

I know Robin Lumsden was just selling one last month. He might still have it. Try contacting him.
