    this is not my area
    can anyone give me some more info on this gun
    there are no numbers on the butt plate which i thought there would be
    what do you think its worth has it been played with etc

          It is a Nagoya Arsenal Type 99 Arisaka short rifle. Series mark looks to be a 3rd series (the marking in front of the serial number). The markings on the top of the receiver read "99 Type".
          The stock has been sanded and varnished and the metal doesn't look to be in too good of shape (at least in the pictures).
          If it's matching, I'd say it's worth around $75.00. Personally, I would pass on this one.

          Originally, it would have a monopod and numbers matching dustcover that covered the bolt. It would have also had anti aircraft attachements on the rear site. Also, someone has ground off the front site guards.

            Whats really weird is that I have a 4th series in the same condition as this one, except my stock isnt sanded, but it has the same metal condition. The weird thing is, the mum grind job is 100% identical to mine, so maybe mine and yours were in the same pile.
