    M24/47 / Vz24 / G98 -- Need help!

    Hello, Gents!

    Came across this tonight.
    ((No pictures, Sorry about that!))

Can anyone give me some insight as well as pictures, if applicable, to a WaA stamped Vz mauser? The receiver's side is marked with the Z.BRNO.

    There is no crest or lion on the receiver, the mag plate appears to have been played with, the stock looks like your M24/Vz style - however, and heres the twist;

The rifle is WaA marked on a dark wood stock, three times, the bolt, the receiver and butplate. Its all matching, minus mag plate.

It is also a straight bolt configuration.

    Now, myself, I own 2 K98s and a G43.
I cant find anything tell tale that leads me to believe the stamps are faked.
Were these rifle ever produced as a WH issue rifle? Were they ever actually stamped?
The lack of a date on the receiver top nor any code lead me to belieev a late war issue?

...Or is the rifle actually a dud?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Okay let me ask it in a more straight forward way...

It is my opinion that Vz factories were taken by Germans on their retreat for faster rifles. These rifles designated as G98s, correct?

Were these G98s ever marked with the full VZ name on the receiver?
      While still including WaA stamps?

If you want a decent answer to your question, pictures are a must.

            Quite the contrary.
The question is simple: Were Vz24s with a BRNO stamping ever, at any point, equally stamped with a WaA?

The lack of any interest in this topic leads me to believe - No. They were never put forth as a WH rifle.

Therefore the correct answer to my question is: No.

We need pictures. nobody can tell for sure without them.

also, I've never been a fan of the "what if" story. I'm always skeptical when somebody tries to postulate that it might be some "super rare undocumented stop gap gun" If it's isn't either documented, or well established that this is legitimate then who knows?

Besides, It's a moot point anyways even if the factories were taken over. we still want to see the gun to make sure its not just a cheap gun dressed up like a one of these "last ditch" rifles or whatever you want to call them.

                No.

At any point? Yes, I think I have one WaA marked, and have seen others, but that is a bit misleading for what you are asking..

I have seen a G 24 (t) that was Wa proofed made by Brun in 1941. A very nice rifle.
