rifle purchase question...

I have the opportunity to purchase an original war time issue M1 Garand and a Kar98 for $1250 for both together..I don't have the specific details of these guns yet, but the owner will mail me the pictures and serial # of both guns soon..the owner is a delivery person that brings us insulation supplies about twice a month and i've known him for about 3 years so there is no underhanded dealing going on here, my question is.. is this a good price for 2 guns ...he says they are in very good condition..once i get the pics and details i will post them again...

There's just too little info here. Condition, serial numbers, etc are critical in judging value. They can be "wartime" but have been rebuilt postwar, and in the case of the K98, rearsenalled and reblued. These K98's were done en masse by the Russkies and now go for a couple hundred bucks. The Garand is a similar case, withy many having been rebuilt or imported from other countries and so will be in less than desireable condition. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but instead just want you to realize that they may be clunkers. Pics are everything so when you see these rifles, take as many as you can. Good luck!

you're not raining on my parade...I know very little about these guns as of yet..hopefully when i get the details and pics posted you guys will be able to give me more info...just waiting on the seller to send me the info...
