mg 42 buttstock, pls help me! :)

    Hi everybody

I would love to hear your opinions on this mg 42 buttstock.
Is this an original German one, or is it post war?

      hi,

very interresting stock ! never seen such a thing.

first at all the buton has well a very early (1942/beguining of 43) design. so it could be WWII

now concerning the butt stock it self:

the metal piece is a wood butt stock patent. not possible on the 2 models bakelite butt stock(the "ehe" and "eqt" ) I know.

the butt pad big screw doesn't exist on this butt... that is what I never seen before... don't have any explanation on it.
unfortunaly Germans WWII markings are inside the butt (on the good WWII ones), and because there is not screw, it's impossible to disassemble the pad from the stock, to see what is written inside....

It's not a early buttstock made in bakelite in 1942 to feb 43,

Ever heard a very late bakelite buttstock production has been made in 45, but never see any of them, and no documentation to speack about...

I wish we could see the markings inside !

      I think it's a post war one.

      Fab.

IMO it is a yugo m53? Cant be 100% sure without a direct comparison, we have a 53 where i work on its AA tripod.
