    Colt M1911A1 .45 Deact.

    Hi Guys,

Can I call on you guys for an opinion on this please?

    http://www.jcmilitaria.com/display_image.asp?ID=6263

Been looking for one of these for display for some time.

Described as in 'superb' condition (don't forget we are talking UK speak) US army issue .45 Colt M1911A1 made by Remington Rand Inc, serial no' 1522054, when would that date to, any idea?

Deactivated to old spec so cocks and dry fires.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Allan

My opinion is that its a real shame its in Europe where you guys destroy the gun by deactivating it.

That being said it looks pretty nice!

If I'm reading this right it looks to be a 1943 production

Yeah some of the other websites I checked out all say 1944, hmm that tends to make me think that if most of them are saying its 44, I think it was made in 44 also based on the majority of the info out there. None the less awesome pistol!
