Well,,part of one anyway,,,guys father was a gunsmith and routinely made deer rifles out of K98's, tossing parts he removed into a box. Imagine my surprise when he pulls out a beautiful Long Side Rail milled ring mount with the base, both all 359 waffenamt, overall great shape, not often encountered, its a shame about what probably happened to the matching rifle!

What a great find!!! However, I am crying because I'm thinking about what happened to the rifle this belongs to!
Can I ask what you had to pay for it?

Congrats Steve! I enjoyed seeing it in your hands at the show. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Hopefully you have a rifle in need of same.
BTW - I apologize for not stopping back to take a better look at your DC but 4 tables kept me too damn busy. I don't think I made it completely down one aisle. I had a great show too but anymore its work rather than fun.

Nice score steve! I must say that I am jealous, however I am glad that it ended up in your hands rather than a dishonest gunsmith! Otherwise someone would be paying big bucks for another humped up sniper!
