My example is serial # 2783, and I have a parts junker # 2559
What is the serial number of your example

Okay gentlemen, some more info and photos here...the gun is serial number 3183...it is aluminum or some other non-magnetic material. The bracket is marked 'wfg 76?' and 0301...proofs of some sort....but seriously....when was the last time anyone saw one of these with the bracket? I have no idea how to price this item...no cracks, no scratches just dusty and needing a cleaning...the owner will not just give it to me, he knows it has some value....to everyone who has PM'd me with interest, feel free to let me know what its worth.
Thanks a bunch guys!
Eric

Hello, Yes, the bracket is very nice. Each type of aircraft had its own method, or more than one method of mounting or holding flare pistols.
I thank you for the serial number, it is important for the research. Just looking forward to other photo angles on the flare pistol.
Good Collecting, signalman
