What does these fakes go for? Do they work well?

With my new Luger, I would love to have one but I don't need an original. I need cheap and works well.

GWA, do you set up at the Chantilly show?

I have 3 real one's and that's a pretty convincing looking fake. Note there's apparentely no manufacturers name on this one.
Did you try to notify Gunbroker about this?

The easiest way to determine the fake is the double line font and size of the serial numbers. It also has heavier weld spots. These fake mags are all "Bing" marked (B over N).

Plus . . . the originals are now fast approaching 100 years old with the corresponding scratches, dings, wear, etc. so I hope that the difference in age between an original and a fake would be apparent.

They were originally offered some seven years ago for about $800 each. They are fully functional but always sold as originals.

As to Chantilly, I will not be going there anymore nor will I set up at any C&E shows. AS some may know, the promoters of the Chantilly show insist on staying open until 1700 on Sundays. I have a two plus hours drive. I leave Chantilly at 1600 on Sundays. They pulled my tables after the last show. A number of other dealers in military weapons have also quit the show.

At the last show in Chantilly I took the time to walk the entire show and count tables that were exclusively jewelry, ladies garments, license plates, tee shirts, hats and other BS. I counted seventy such tables. They are going to kill the goose that laid the golden eggs.

Man $800 for a repro... thats rough but I guess its half an original. How about these? I know they are out of stock but did they work? What do they go for now?

It does seem kind of stupid to be that strick about people leaving early sunday night. After all you are paying for the table, not the other way around. Being a VT grad myself, I hate to say it because I think they are all VT people but the guys running the show are not very friendly to begin with.

Yeah there are more and more tables of crap and less new people. The last few times I have gone I have bought little. Of course I am mainly looking for Maxim and other MG related items. Michael Krotz is a friend and I loved his tables, esp when parts kits were still coming into the country. I think we have probably met. Are you the guy on the main row with a display of lugers supported from the mag well? Or the guy in the front section with tons of rare guns in the cases? Either of them?

"They are going to kill the goose that laid the golden eggs"

Doing that crap, yeah they are. They have a very good chance right now to get the SAR show moved down there. That would be awesome! The SAR East show was my best show of the year and now its gone and I will really miss it! If they ran that with the regular gun show, I think it would be great!

This would be me, just to the left of the cash machine. There may well be a purveyor of exotic herbs and spices there at the next show.

Believe it or not, there is such a fellow at their shows but he does also sell vegetable peelers.
