Light unit.

Hi,looks a bit like a part of the light unit that illuminates the reticle on mg sights and rangefinders and other equipment so the sight lines can be seen of a night time.That's my first thought. Regards David.

I guess you are correct. I just didn't like it for no particular reason. I guess my gut reaction was wrong...

Well, it is not normal to find WaA stamps on reticle lamps. I guess because they have been reissued and used after the war, and many been repainted. I've got 4 and none has an eagle, but as said, it could be possible.
