M1 Carbine-What to offer?

Hello forum,

I have a situation I need some help with. I know someone with an M1 that I would terribly like to own. I do not know, however what to offer. It is a korea produced one, and I don't think that it is any sort of special make, but I just need to know what is going for an average carbine. What would be fair?

first, is it import marked? usually up front on the side of the barrel or on some of the earlier ones onderneath the barrel near the gas pistol ( you have to take the rifle apart) if it an import - 450 -500 range, if its a true post war rebuild, 500 - 600.
