How to pay this german flare gun? One of 300 produced by SANDER.

Hard to find,i think this is a early production ,is it any prduction year stamping on the gun? It looks like a lufwaffe accept stamp above the grip plates.

My Sander marked Model L flareguns are serial numbers 189, 238, and 326. I believe these are early versions of the Ecko marked flareguns. Probably manufactured in 1934 or early 1935

Are all the screws and levers on the flare gun 100% original and unaltered? To me it looks like some of this has been messed with.

I think the screws are orginals, but this early modell dont have the additional securing screws for the barrel hinge bolt, you find them on later SLD types.

                    ayf,

First Model "L"'s are Sanders, then ECKO "S", then ECKO 1936.

"S" is a code for 1935, much as the G date lugers are 1935.

Whether Sanders are 1934, or 1935 is unknown, but there is only one serial number progression from Sanders through all of the Ecko's
                    --------------------------

The screws and pins on the Sanders are shiny in the white, and a mixture of flat head and round, with slight variations, They look correct.

The safety lever had been removed and then an ill fitting one replaced. but the part is a correct safety lever. Gripscrew looks damaged or missing.
                    ------------------------

                    # 189 and # 238 are internally serial numbered, and have an octagon proof with BAL inside along with a number instead of the Luftwaffe Proof.

#326 is identical to the one pictured.

The first Ecko "S" I am aware of is # 589. The first Ecko 1936 I am aware of is # 977

                        Hello,

the "Sander" marked Fliegerleuchtpistole is absolute rare. In the serial number lists of Vagn Christensen und B. Baumgarten are only 6 (up to now) known pieces registered. The serial number range from this known signal pistols goes from 58 to 342, which could mean that maybe only 500 pieces were produced in total with "Sander" marking.
                        Congratulation for this outstanding find.
                        best
                        San
