A buddy of mine had one of these back in the 70's, with a ventilated rib above the slide. It caused him nothing but trouble but he was able to trade it straight across for a Ruger .22 Single Six. The guy who ended up with the Llama kept pestering him to cancel the trade as he had a crapload of malfunctions with it too.WAF LIFE COACHComment

The little Lama .22 brings back lots of memories: my dad has one and, as a kid, it was one of my favorite pistols to shoot with him. No problems with function of the gun, but I recall that the mag follower button was hard to depress and thus tough on the thumb and index finger when loading the magazine. In fact, I have nothing but fond memories of the gun (other than i clearly remember that my thumb was always messed up from loading the mag).Comment

I've owned Llamas and Star Spanish 22s in the past and my experience with them has been favorable. I currently still have a Star Model F 22 that I purchased inexpensively at a flea market many years ago. Since then it's had countless thousand of rounds thru it with no breakage or other problems. I wish some of the new breed of 22s such as the Walther P22 were as reliable and trouble free as this Spanish example.
Can't help much inre. to collector value for your example other than to state there isn't a big market for Spanish pistols in general.Comment
