Here is an interesting ammo box I purchased today...

"Leon" was kind enough to explain the meaning of the two stickers (8mm ammo on stripper clips). What I was also curious about was the meaning of the symbols stamped into the side of the wood in the second photo. Is B&S the maker of the box and are those really SS runes or something else? I think the only reason I noticed them is because I took the box outside to take photos today and the sunlight sure brought out those additional markings.

I feel sure the B & S is the box maker and 1938 was the year of manufacture. I can't say for sure about the runes. I've never seen those on a crate before. There is often another lablel or 2 on the underside of the lid.
