thats sound good . At all, a super rare mp40 you have. the "122 40" code is not sooo often seen at the market . A X-ray would help in the safety opening question

As far as I can see it the gun gun consist out of 3 seperate parts:

-Grip section (863 serialnumber from Haenel)
-Receiver and barrel section (4473 serialnumber from Steyr)
          -Sight protector (563)

So the gun is made out of at least 3 parts. So I'm sorry to say but that's not so rare.

So the first question I have is; what serial number does the bolt have?

The bolt in the receiver tube does not belong in there. Probably a field repair of a post war fix.

          Kind regards,

          Alex
