                  Hi Rob,
the year 1940-43, the company produces parts for MG34 and stamped the items with name CRA and use the number 11 for WaA
in 42 starts to make also pieces for MG42 always with the name CRA but with number 47 for WaA
by 42 to 45 produces parts only for mg42 and uses name CRA and SWD but change the number from 74 to 11

                    Hi Mattia.
Thanks for all that superb info.
The bakelite stock posted here is off my Mg42. It an early 1943 dated one. I have always been confused about my stock wondering if its a genuine early stock or a post war one. I have seen other pictures of early bakelite stocks and most have the same mark as i got but also mostly have a " eqt " mark or " ehe " mark. Mine does not have these?
You still think this one a good early original .
                    Rob.

Hello Rob, as I told you this a postwar bakelite stock from the MG3. The bakelite marks inside the stock were also used postwar. Mg42 butts have a 3 letter code inside and outside there are Waffenamt marks. Your MG42 came out of the Ukraine and so all main parts were electropencilled with the serialnumber. Also the butt became the serial number of the gun. Is there the serialnumber on the butt?

                      Best regards,
                      Christian

Dam Thought it was too good to be true. There no serial No on butt.
                        Cheers Christian.

                            Rob,

My MG3 bakelite butt has the following features which appear to differ from the MG42 bakelite butt. Be interested to hear whether these features are the same or differ on your butt.

                            1. Nato stock number
