    P38 parts

So a while back I took my p38 out to shoot it. I dont shoot it that much at all. Since I have it I just shoot it on special occasions. Well I found out quite a few people have the same problem as I do with these guns. Occasionally you hear about people while shooting have the rear sight and firing pin indicator cover just either break or fly off. My indicator cover happened to snap in half and the rear sight flew back and hit me in the face. I have yet to find either one of them due to shooting in tall grass. But I am curious if post war firing pin indicator covers will fit on the p38. Also what style post war sight would be correct to a ww2 p38.

Anyone have any parts for sale or links to some website that does. Occasionally I check on gunbroker. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the help guys I will call both of them today. My birthday is coming up, and the p38 was a gift to me last year. :'(

I would really like to get it fixed and just hang him up on the wall or in a display case.
This year I am getting my second Kar98k. A dou 43 with bayonet for 300 dollars shipped.

If anyone want's a P38 to shoot you,IMO, would be well ahead of the game in purchasing one of the thousands of post-war P1s surplussed by the German govenment in the last several years.

Jim- I plan on doing this very soon. This gun I literally only fired around a box of 50 rounds out of.
I did find the parts for it though so I should be getting it fixed up soon, and should be in a nice display case in my room. Thanks for all of the help guys, I appreciate it.

              Good Move links:
I have my uncles P38 bringback complete with papers and I've never fired it nor do I ever intend to fire it. Omega Weapons Systems in Tucson,AZ had a ample supply of P1s in stock the last time I talked to the owner. I believe they're going for $275.

What is the law on the importation of parts overseas?

As an American, You can buy/import anything except for frames or automatic sears!

No import license is required for these parts!

(I'm not sure about the barrel and lower, but I'm sure about the other parts!)

                      regards,
                      Dennis

Another question guys. Will any ww2 firing pin indicator cover fit every p38. Or do I need one factory marked to my pistol?
