The reason is that these are not lend lease weapons. They were purchased by South Korea to arm their armies as we began pulling out of there. Especially since we were adopting the M14 we had no real need to maintain a stock of M1 Carbines and Garands.

Thanks, got it now. In view that these are not under the CMP criteria I am not surprised by the decision.

For some years now it seems that the importation of mil-surp semi-autos has been curtailed.

I have one of the ones that were imported in the late 80's paid $300 hundred for it love the gun, hate the Clintons. I will be writting my congressman, after I am done with this post. It will not be a nice letter, I encourage everyone else to do the same. I wish there was a better way to show my disaproval for the poloticians that run the goverment.

The second-largest holder of voting stock in News Corp, Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, a nephew of the Saudi king . . . who through his philanthropies, has given generously to initiatives pursued by the imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf . . . and is one of the primary leading backers of the proposed Islamic center himself!

And that's only one example of the misguided information you will get by watching Fox News . . . yet so many continue to blindly follow. Very scary, if you ask me . . .
