    G43 - ac44

    Hello,
this is mine G43 picked up some months ago. It's an ac44, bolt not-matching.

Like suggest on many threads I shoot very few rounds, just to test if it works.
Only 10 rounds of Norma 123 grain bullet. For 2010 it's enough... next rounds on 2011!

My question is.... for you it is an ex DDR VOPO or r.c.?

    Regards
    brus

PS. the sight hood is a repro for sure, I mounted it from myself.

I would look for the waffenamt marks to be dinged out if it was either. To me I would think it was neither. It could be a bring back and the bolt was mismatched a long time ago but I am not sure how they were left in Europe after the war.

Most important is that the stock matches, which it does.

The stock has been sanded lightly and treated with something.

P.S. Why do folks hide serial numbers? Just curious.

This one reminds me of my old AC/44! I see nothing "wrong" with this at all!!

That usually turns into a heated discussion. Some freely share all the information on their weapons while others feel the need to hide part of the serial numbers. One of the Springfield Trapdoor forums I visit won't even respond to questions that have partial serial numbers. The members contend that every serial number helps solve the puzzle, and if someone is not willing to share the serial they are not willing to share their knowledge.
Personally I see nothing wrong with sharing complete serial numbers. Someone can walk up to your car and copy the VIN, but what can they do with it? What further can someone do with the serial number of your firearm? One of the scenarios is that someone can get your serial number, turn it in to the police as being stolen from them, and the authorities will come confiscate your firearm and give it to the crook.
