    Opinion on STG44

I haven't been here for quite a while but I need some experts opinion...
I'd like to buy an STG44, although I don't know what the prices are for these guns.
The seller says he found the stg in the ground, probably with a metaldetector, and he says he can't read the numbers/codes anymore. So I'm not sure if he's put all different parts together to get a full stg or not. Anyways, he has added the grip himself, the rest would be original according to him.

This is the only good picture available:

What would be the common price for this gun, suppose it truely is original?
And what would be the price if it was put together from all diferent parts?

    Thx!

    Grtz,

On the whole, this item does not seem worth to put in a collection. Wait until you will get offered a better one.

He's set his price on 350euro...don't think it's that much is it?
I don't find many stg's on the net or get offered any. Also, my budget says I can't spend over 500-1000euro on a gun (same goes for my wife, hehe)

      Thx,
      Grtz,

keep your money (hide it from your wife "allways")
Save up for somthing better, they do turn up now and again.
Thats just my oppinion. if you like ground dug items this its a nice one.
if not, wait and save some more up.

There are TWO original and working MP44's on gun broker right now. Anyone got the 18 grand asking price?

I'd love to have a real Stg/MP 44, but as you observed, the cost is prohibitive. By the time I have ~20K, they'll cost 100,000.

I have had the opportunity to handle and examine both a 43 and a 44; they're surprisingly heavy. And of course they take an odd caliber that would no doubt be expensive if you wanted to use one as a shooter.

            A man can dream.

As to the OP's question, I wouldn't pay that much for a dug up relic in poor shape.

                Hi,
for that price I would take it ! Already the hand-guard + the magazine in ground-dug condition bring half of the asked price !
If in the future you'll be lucky to find a better one, you will always be able to sell this one for the price you paid !
It is ground-dug but original. Get some good, matching grip-plates for it and that's it. Will display nicely.

                Just my advice.....

                    Mp44

In my opinion 350 Euros is cheap.... You can always get your money back out of it when you find a better one....
