Hello all,
I was looking over my DUV 44 g43 today and noticed that on one side of the stock near the receaver there is what appers to be a SS Death Head, i then proceaded to get a piece of paper and trace the image (which is very light) and it is infact a death head insignia this looks just like any death head insignia but there appears to be no jaw just the head and the bones with no runes, the only other markings on the gun are a W in a circle farther up on the bottom of the stock and a Waffenamp on the pistol grip poration of of the stock also to note there are no ss markings on the rifle itself i have cheacked , I have a few questions about this marking,
Did the ss mark stocks?
Did the stocks that the ss marked go throught the normal supply chains as the whermacht?
Is the ss Death Head the right marking for a ss stock?
Did the SS mark g43 stocks?
If needed i can try to take pictures but will be very hard due to the marking to be very faint
Also to note this gun is not at all associated with "Mitchals Mausers" and was bought from the 2nd owner of the gun who had aquired it from the vet
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks in advance,
McCallion
