    Luger S/42 Magazine question

Hello all, Picked up a complete 1938 S/42 rig recently, with pistol, holster and 2 mags. Both mags are numbered to the gun, with the correct suffix and acceptance stamps on both mags and the pistol. However, both mags are marked with a "+". No number restampings and both mags are the correct type 2, with no obvious issues with font or spacing. How can everything else be correct and both identified as the spare? Thanks, as I am currently confused

    Hi,

I have never seen that before. I suppose it could be an error. Good pictures of the mags, especially the bottoms, would really help trying to sort that out. Maybe one of us would spot something.

    Regards, Leon

With most things Luger anything out of the ordinary gives cause to doubt both the gun and any story attached to it. If correct, there is no reason to accept two matched magazines with a plus. I would immediately assume that one, and probably both mags had been partially shaved and renumbered.
