hello guys i went to the war & peace show yesterday and found the first bakerlite but with wa stamp on and in side the but is the code (ehe) . all the other bakerlite buts I have seen have always been post war john

Hi John.
Thats a nice genuine bakerlite butt. I got one myself on my 1942 Mg 42.
I was at War & Peace show myself and i think i picked up that stock to look at. It was the only one i saw there and in good nick
Did you buy it from a right hand side cornor end store as your walking up towards main arena?

nice to see the " ehe " stamp in side with the rear plate off, Did the screw come out easy?

Bakelite seems to have suffered anyway!
marking Waffenamt reminds me marking MG34 butts!
then this would be a model of transition?
I thought the manufacturer 'EQT' was the leading manufacturer of stock for MG42 but apparently 'ehe' has also made.

hello nordland how are you, yes I paid £90 uk pounds for the bakerlite but about 4 years ago and when I put a little gun oil on the but it looks very nice and you can see the full colour again, my mg 42 is full matching numbers all of it is it came from Russia and has all original parts on it even the wooden but numbers match , best regards john
