    A Pair of 1871 Gewhers

I picked these up over the weekend at a garage sale and finally finished cleaning them up. They both turned out fairly well.

3 I don't remember what the 87 in front of the manufacture date means

4 The second rifle still has the original bluing on the barrel, but there was more rust on the reciever and buttplate. The bores on both rifles is good.

last one. Surprisingly neither one appears to have been converted to a 71/84 and they both came from the same Foot Artillery unit.

                  71/84

Nice finds! I'd love to add one of these one day to the collection, but at a yardsale price of course.... Chris...

Now you need the bayonet and scabbard for each.

They will probably cost near what the guns did !

A friend of mine has one bayo that I am going to pick up for the one I'm keeping. The other I'll sell without and let the new owner find one
