    Relic Grenade

I recieved this relic grenade from the cherkassy pocket...I was wondering from someone more knowledgeable if this is completely safe... there is no opening where it was emptied, light, hollow, sounds like a spoonful of sand inside, the igniter is present. I'm sure its ok right?

    Achtung !!!

hi ,be very carefull with this ! even if the charge was removed ,the ignitor can be dangerus . it can go of just by bodyhead and can remove some of your fingers...
    best regards ,jo

That cap has been screwed in reverse order. So it was unscrewed once, that is sure.
PS: I would never insert inert filling into the deactivated bodies. Nobody would be sure then if it is inert or not - at the customs your item will be ruined to check this. So avoid these fillings, especially permanent ones - like epoxy resin!!! In closed empty bodies I personally insert metal ball; it will certainly indicate safety

Weight is also one thing which says if its empty or not.Explosive material inside alone weights about 150-170gramms.

There is so many different ways to empty these.Useally these are cut open from the bottom of grenade, interior inside thread missing. And some of these are made empty with dissolving the interior with proper liquids.

Also what i have seen, all waterfound ones have dissolved interior away in contact with water for 60+years.
