William,

This P.38 is a late war pistol made by Waffenfabrik Walther in 1945. The letters "ac" are the secret code used by that maker and the "45" is the year of manufacture.

The gun is a matching one (same serial number on the frame, barrel and slide), which is always good. The "waffenamt" proofs are also correct for a Walther's P38.

The holster is NOT correct for a WWII German issued P.38 pistols.

The only problem is that I can't tell you for sure if its finish is original. The small parts (take down lever, safety lever, rear sight, slide catch)seems to be phosphated, which also would be correct for a late war Walther.

I do not live in USA, so any tips about value is only a "guestimation". If original, I think that 750-850 USD would be a fair price. But let's see what the others think about it.

Hi William,

I agree with everything Douglas said. Also, that is a "b" block ac45 and will likely have a sub contractor (fnh) barrel. That makes the pistol a bit more valuable so I would say the value would fall in the upper end of what Douglas said and, to the right buyer, maybe a bit more.

I don't recognize the holster at all.

the p38 looks good over all ,see no issues.
holster looks "home made". does it have space for the extra magazine ??
the price range is close to what was mentioned.
