    The mechanism may be unique but the workmanship is so good that there has to be a similar firearm somewhere. You may be surprised to hear someone say that. Whoever made it had to have training and had a lot of skill. I can't imagine that he only made one gun. It may be the only one like yours but look at grip shape, the grip carving, barrel profile etc and see if you can find something similar, even with a more traditional mechanism. I hope some of the "smoke pole" collectors will estimate a date or place it may have been made.

      Rifled and with firing pin put it much later than the matchlock. It was hard to tell the exact mechanism form the picture. Looked like a rod going through the breech. Had it been flint fired like the Monk gun you would have the missing link.

      Is it Centerfire 9mm? Can you get a closeup of the firing pin in the breech?

        I wil try to get more pictures from the guy, he told me it is firing pin and you can see it from a pics. He measured the barrel and he said it is 9mm. But i still did not have them in my hand so I can take better pics.
