I would be pleased to have comments and observations regarding this MP 43, condition, originallity and an explaination of the stamped markings. It is deactivated to an old specification, which is a shame but the only way it can be kept. Many thanks, Clive.

As far as I understand the S/N on the wooden part of the stock is post-war addition from Bundeswehr or NVA. Everything else seems OK.
The markings on the receiver mean the following:
cos - manufacturer code of Merz-Werke - the subcontractor who made the receiver
WaA44 - Merz-Werke acceptance marking
fxo - manufacturer code of C.G.Haenel - the primary contractor of the gun
Eagle over 37 is a Haenel acceptance marking
Eagle over swastika is a proof markComment

aqr on the handguard is a manufacturer code of R. u. O. Lux Metallwaren- u. Maschinenfabrik AG
Crossed swords with DA is a deactivation marking of Birmingham ArmouryComment
