    number stamps

    I saw some number stamp dies for the german 98k that are repros for sale at a gunshow, is there any legitimate use for these or are they marketed towards people who fake numbers?

    As used by Mitchell's Mausers perhaps ?

    I'm sure there may be legitimate uses for these repro stamps - at the moment I can't think of any.

      If you are stamping something on a rifle that wasn't there originally but looks like an original marking, it just about has to be to deceive.

        They actually looked pretty good, the fonts were pretty much the same as the fonts on my rifle.
