I am talking to the owner of a WW2 German G43 that his family has for sale. I have not seen the weapon and wont see it until 10 July but I am trying to get all my "duckies in a row" for when we meet.
The owner told me it is marked Guftloff 1944, G43 5xx9J, AC 44 and the single mag is marked AYE G43 AB. I would guess the serial number would place it mid 1944? Only my guess. No mention of the scope mount or scope. I can only hope.
I have done a search on this Forum of past threads on the G43 and most have been very helpful but the one question I need to ask is...What is "duffel bag" cut? Is it the wood stock? The barrel? Is it both wood and barrel?
When we meet, I will be looking for the typical sanded/finished stock to include the "thinner" hand grip area, any reworked steel parts, matching serial numbers and most importantly, the VOPO markings.
I will then post photos of the G43 for better comments.
Almost forgot... his asking price is 2,500US but is negotiable.
