    A nazi-Isreal K98 sling?

Got this K98 sling this weekend. Basic research suggests that it is post war Israeli. The metal is heavy brass. It is 55'' long and in very nice condition. But the interesting part is a stamp on the inside. I can make out "Wehrmacht" and some letters besides the eagle and swastika. One thought, of course, is that the stamp was speciously added.
Question: is it legit or not? Anyone familiar with the stamp and being used on these slings? I have enhanced the color and shading in one pic to bring out the stamp.
    Please comment.
    Thanks, van

    stamp

I cannot upload the other pics. I do not know why as there is no explanation for what is missing. This is a disappointing feature of this site.

Maybe the file size or picture size is to big?
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

        Sling

IT'S a post war isreali sling...often confused with wartime slings...I can count more than on two hands the amount of times they are touted as orig..Any german markings are fake...Brass fittings and the isreali markings are a dead give away..... Van, I still love the erma Trainer!!!

Mauser, I think you are correct esp about the stamp. I did notice that the stamp is missing part of the bottom and I suspect the Germans would not use a wrong size stamp.
I got the sling to put on that lovely Erma that you just might end up with provided some sweetner is added There is a remnant of what I assume is an original sling for the Erma and it is wider than a K98 sling. I doubt there is much chance of finding an original sling and this sling would at least allow me to carry it more safely tho it presently is too long by about 7-8" to snug it up tight.
